Chart Bite - Sunday May 10th 2009
It is as you were in every sense of the word on the UK charts this week. Not only is there no move at the top of the album chart as Bob Dylan holds firm, the entire Top 6 of the singles chart stays static.
It is the second time in just over a year this has happened on the singles chart, mirroring exactly the Top 10 lineup from March 2008 which saw records 1-6 and 10 all retain their chart positions from the previous week.
Tinchy Stryder and N-Dubz thus grab a third week at Number One with 'Number 1' whilst La Roux have to content themselves with a fourth week at Number 2 with 'In For The Kill'. It is the first single to spend a lunar month falling just short of the Number One position since 'Rule The World' by Take That also had a four week run in second place in December 2007.
Honours for the highest new entry go to Swedish star Tommy Sparks whose second single 'She's Got Me Dancing' gives him his Top 40 debut at Number 22.
