Chart Bite - Sunday November 8th 2009
For the third time running, the Number One single has an inescapable X Factor connection. Following their appearance on the results show last weekend, four piece JLS grab the Number One single with new release 'Everybody In Love'. The 2008 runners-up are now the 8th act this year to bag themselves a brace of Number One hits, having topped the charts back the summer with their debut release 'Beat Again'.
On the album chart Cheryl Cole retains top honours with '3 Words', leaving Bon Jovi to languish in second place with their brand new album 'The Circle'. Strangely enough it is their third Number 2 album in a row, with 'Have A Nice Day' and 'Lost Highway' also falling just short of the top of the charts - it has been nine years since Bon Jovi had a Number One album in this country.
More to follow in Chart Watch UK, including the tale of a soundtrack single that gives a hot production duo their first ever proper hit, and a 27 year old single by a famous old rock band that makes the Top 40 for the first time ever.
