Neil Young re-thinks Blu-Ray releases

As we reported earlier this year, Neil Young is no fan of MP3s, with their low bitrates. He had planned to force people to upgrade sound quality wise by making upcoming archive releases (starting with a ten disc collection of live performances from between 1963 and 1972) only available on super quality Blu-Ray disks. However, it seems Young has had a change of heart, possibly because only about four people in the world would be able to play the albums. He has now announced that the archive recordings will be made available on CD and DVD, too. My plan is to buy the CD version and then rip the tracks onto my MP3 player at the lowest possible bitrate.

Suggestion, try listening to music the way that the artist intended, far more enjoyable try it!
