Should Britain Be Banned From Eurovision?

Posted Thu 29 May 2008 12:09PM BST by Mitch Carter in The Guestlist
The debate over last week's farcical failure at this year's Eurovision contest rages on and on. Even the usually mild mannered Terry Wogan waded into the debate saying Eurovision was "no longer a music contest".

Now it seems that the contest's organisers may want to strip Britain of its guaranteed place in the final with the European Broadcasting Union meeting to discuss our future in the contest.

Is it time we stopped contributing to what some have dubbed the ‘Eastern European Song Contest' or are we just a nation of sore losers who need to improve their game?

Perhaps being banned would be good news all round?

who cares if they ban us!

That's not a solution! Being represented by (at least) decent songs would be!

Absolutely not,

Britain should just ban terry wogan from presenting it then everyone would be happy :)

Also pick someone whos half decent and at least somebody has heard of...

The notion that we should "up our game" is nonsense when the other countries contributions are so dire - the single biggest problem with Eurovision contest is all near neighbours voting for each other. If it weren't for Terry Wogan's commentary, i certainly would not be watching - he is hilarious!
