Mallett's Miming Misfortune

Posted Wed 26 Nov 2008 12:09PM GMT by Mitch Carter in The Guestlist
Wacky wild man of the jungle Timmy Mallett was left with egg on his face today after claims that the vocals on his 90s chart hit Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini were performed by a stand-in.

Mallett's vocals were "shunted into the background" whilst the lead was instead sung by teacher Everton Barnes as Mallett was considered to be tone deaf by the record's producers.

Speaking to the Sun newspaper Everton said: "His voice was as flat as a punctured pancake.

"There was no way that the record company could release it as it was. I sang the whole vocal track and Timmy's was shunted into the background."

Everton, who is now a deputy headmaster, decided to spill the beans when Timmy appeared in the jungle.

"I've decided to speak out as I feel it's a great shame Timmy is going around singing the song when he knows it's not his voice on it.

"It was even my idea to insert the ‘Oh yeahs' and now Timmy is going around shouting ‘Oh yeah' in the jungle as if it was all down to him." said Everton.

Do you think Timmy Mallett was right to claim that he sang the lead vocal on the record or was he right to keep quiet?

Timmy Mallet has always been a noob and will remian one, Doesn't suprise me that he never sang. he is good for nothing but scaring crows with his squeaky awful teletubby voice.

Timmy Mallet is an idiot - this song is a total turd and he is obviously singing it in the jungle to try and do a 'Peter Andre' and have some sort of limited success again off the back of being completely talentless and out of date.

Haha, doesn't matter who sang it, it either made a hit or not and they got cash for it... Timmy will say what people want to hear in the jungle just like the rest of them... wtg Timmy, you keep em guessing mate.

Very easy for this school deputy head to make comments like this when Timmy Mallett is away and unable to respond.

Give Timmy Mallett a knighthood for being one of the best childrens presenters EVER!

That is too funny, I'll respond to terryaj in a way he will understand:

" He no lie, he make silly record. get number one miming like most pop star do. Teacher should know better - be ashamed himsel for seeking fame and being proud of Oh Yeah's" Thats for you terryaj, go back to school.

Mallet is a legend - hope he wins that pointless cr*p show, cos some of those
z-listers are taking it way too seriously.

"Say Bleeeeh!" LOL
So what if he didn't sing it, Paula Abdul didn't sing or star in her own videos, it was a lookalike....A fair comparison I think. Not that I really care to be brutally honest.

All those celebs are obsessed with their egos, with their heads stuck up their arses! they take themselves far too seriously. They can't laugh at themselves, except for only one person and that's Mallet, Good on yer mate.
