Mallett's Miming Misfortune
Mallett's vocals were "shunted into the background" whilst the lead was instead sung by teacher Everton Barnes as Mallett was considered to be tone deaf by the record's producers.
Speaking to the Sun newspaper Everton said: "His voice was as flat as a punctured pancake.
"There was no way that the record company could release it as it was. I sang the whole vocal track and Timmy's was shunted into the background."
Everton, who is now a deputy headmaster, decided to spill the beans when Timmy appeared in the jungle.
"I've decided to speak out as I feel it's a great shame Timmy is going around singing the song when he knows it's not his voice on it.
"It was even my idea to insert the ‘Oh yeahs' and now Timmy is going around shouting ‘Oh yeah' in the jungle as if it was all down to him." said Everton.
Do you think Timmy Mallett was right to claim that he sang the lead vocal on the record or was he right to keep quiet?

Give Timmy Mallett a knighthood for being one of the best childrens presenters EVER!
Here's to your next classic.
" He no lie, he make silly record. get number one miming like most pop star do. Teacher should know better - be ashamed himsel for seeking fame and being proud of Oh Yeah's" Thats for you terryaj, go back to school.
Mallet is a legend - hope he wins that pointless cr*p show, cos some of those
z-listers are taking it way too seriously.

More concerned with the pound in my pocket !
So what if he didn't sing it, Paula Abdul didn't sing or star in her own videos, it was a lookalike....A fair comparison I think. Not that I really care to be brutally honest.
