19-year-old Italian heavy metal singer Cristina Balzano has been arrested for stabbing the guitarist in her band Soul Cry after he fluffed a guitar riff.
Balzano allegedly stabbed the 16-year-old guitarist for playing the wrong notes during a rehearsal session after accusing him of "sounding evil".
Balzano has now been charged by Genovese police for attempted murder.
The incident is not the first altercation to affect the heavy metal scene.
Founder of Norwegian black metal outfit Burzum, Varg Vikernes is currently in jail in for the murder of Øystein Aarseth, guitarist for rival metal band Mayhem. Although his motive was unclear, the murder is though to have been "a power struggle between rival leaders of the Satanic circle".
British rockers Iron Maiden were famously pelted with eggs by Sharon Osbourne and her cohorts during a gig in the US after lead singer Bruce Dickinson "disrespected Ozzy".

If any of these people actually met a metaller or rocker they'd know we're actually alot more laid back than concerned about worshipping satan. In fact the majority of us don't believe in satan and are more atheist than anything. This girl was quite obviously unstable. Im sure theres a pop star out there who's mentally unstable as well.
And as for music losing out..doubt it, if they release a record there is already an angle for the press to get a hold of and they will most likely sell a fair few 'units'. After all, Mayhem still sell, they are like 'the' black metal band.
