Singer and violinist Alexander Rybak has won this year's Eurovision Song Contest for Norway with his song "Fairytale".
Iceland came second in the contest followed by Azerbaijan in third and Turkey in fourth place.
Jade Ewen finished fifth with her Andrew Lloyd Webber penned track "It's My Time" giving the United Kingdom their best result in years.

Voting changes appear to have worked (look at the top 5!)
@9 & 17 a rubbish song? Afraid you are in a minority there. Only ONE country didn't give Norway points and thats because they couldn't! 16 votes for top song, 9 for 2nd and 10 votes for 3 amounts to a record points total. Wasn't my particular favorite but clearly appealed to the vast majority of Europe.
UK Win??????? Simply because lloyd weber orchestrated it for them?? No freaking way!!! They did not even deserve the 5th they took. Talent, they aint got and its abt time they realize
hmmm as the only act to perform all the music and lyrics live i think the uk should have had a higher ranking score...the score system for the eurovision still a joke, not giving the 12 points to the people you thought performed the best, but rather your neighbouring countries...look at the scandinavian lot and moldova/romania...
the norwegian song was dribble...there were many acts that performed better i thought, and with better songs and lyrics, but as some1 else on here has mentioned, their song had an eastern european folk sound to it...shame they couldnt perform music and lyrics at the same time
as for the negative comments on here about the uk...go post on another countries forum if you arent happy with things over here...
whoever u r, slagging the brits, go to hell!!!
