Singer and violinist Alexander Rybak has won this year's Eurovision Song Contest for Norway with his song "Fairytale".
Iceland came second in the contest followed by Azerbaijan in third and Turkey in fourth place.
Jade Ewen finished fifth with her Andrew Lloyd Webber penned track "It's My Time" giving the United Kingdom their best result in years.

Well done though Jade you did us proud! x
Iceland should have won Though ;-)
"Fairy Tale" what can you expect with Eurovision Song Contest? Stroke of genius by Norway to have a singer with a Slavonic name who speaks Russian.
Worst song? I think Romania with Balkan Girls (like to party, party). Again easily misinterpreted.
Why do you hate Britain so much? And if you hate Britain so much, why would you express those feelings in relation to the Eurovision Song Contest?
You are truly weird. After all, there are all sorts of things that you could hate Britain for - in the ultimate scheme of things, Eurovision doesn't rate that highly tbh. The people put on a great show every year, with talented (and some not so talented) bands, but it is just a music show, made in a spirit of friendship between the countries and (most importantly) for FUN!
Generally, the British people recognise this.
Sure, the best bands hardly ever win, the voting system is still a mess, but nobody really cares - you get a very entertaining 3 hour music marathon and the votes are basically a little bit bolted on at the end.
Personally, I think the standard was very high (compared to recent years) this year. The majority of the bands had good stage shows and singers. I find it a little saddening that so many sang in English rather than their own languages. I think the Norwegian song was ok, but not great. The British song was a good entry, but there were plenty of better acts (eg. Iceland, Sweden, Malta, Azerbaijan, Spain, Finland) My flatmates think that the Finnish entry should be released this Summer. It would go down well in the clubs. They had a really good stage show too.
(also to 86) - that is precisely correct. The vast majority of British people do not want to be in the Eurozone and a large number of us want out of the EU. It is an unneccessary burden, a bureaucratic mess basically designed to line the pockets of MEPs and associated bureaucrats, at the expense not just of British taxpayers, but European taxpayers too.
Europe would be much better off with the UK out of the EU completely. The UK would certainly be happier, and the public want it. The European nations would also be better off - with the layers of bureaucracy and bull**** stripped away, the real problems throughout Europe could be solved.
But well done Jade, you were great!
I am not British by birth (Swiss national) but I love being here, the muliculturalism is what makes this country great, unfortunately there are individuals who are "the scum of the earth" (like post 64) who don't know the meaning of life, too ignorant to understand.
...and please, next time he/she writes a message on line, do consult a dictionary and learn how to spell.!!!!!!!
Where does all the hate come from? Such venom is not healthy you know. I think it is a bit harsh of you to be so prejudiced against an entire nation just because you don't agree with what people have said. Don't most people support their own countries? People should be able to express their opinions freely without being insulted in such a way. All you have managed to do by poisoning this forum with your prejudice is to show everyone your ignorance and lack of intellect. Well done! Nice one!!
PS This is a forum about Eurovision, for god's sake!
