Perez vs Lily
Poor old Lily Allen. First her chat show sinks like a brick and now Perez Hilton, one of the internet's most notorious bloggers, has it in for the mockney song bird. Just check out what he has to say;
"Lily used to be Capitol Records' "golden girl" but lately she's just been slipping. She's known these days more fore being a tragic train wreck than a musician. She knows it too. That must hurt!
And, now, it seems she's been replaced ... by none other than a Perez fad, Katy Perry, which we first introduced you to last year.
Katy also performed at our kick ass party in Austin during SXSW this past March.
Well, according to reports, a music industry insider has said, "Lily Allen is peeved at Capitol. She feels like they've shoved her aside to focus all their energies on their new girl of the moment, Katy Perry."
But the real insult, according to the source, came when the label "replaced a photo of Lily Allen with one of Katy Perry" in its office main lobby.
Ha ha ha!!!!!
Lily is starting to look like washed-up goods.
The only thing that can save Allen now???? If she makes a good sophomore album!
But, from what we're hearing, Lily's new material s-u-c-k-s."
I can't help thinking Perez has a point though. In fact I've never really got Lily in the first place. The juxtaposition between the cockney facade and the reality of the public school girl that lies within has never sat well with me. Plus, her first album ‘Alright Still', whilst a refreshing breath of fresh air at the time, can hardly be viewed as a classic.
In fact the more I think about it, the more Lily seems destined to a life of b-list celebrity, just like her dad.

Whats his contribution to our culture? Ripping people to shreds to make him look "cool".
Take a break Lilly and dont let the haters destroy whats left of you!
The guy is an Uber-Tool
The problem with producing a follow-up to a successful debut album is that it is bound to be criticised. The Killer's second album, for example, was, in fact, shocking! The Kooks - another example. It seems that artists are now destined for their 15 minutes of fame and no more. The fact is Lily Allen set a music trend which has since been followed by the likes of Kate Nash and Katy Perry which is something to be proud of in itself.
