"What are they doing with my magic frame?"

Posted Thu 9 Oct 2008 3:52PM BST by Mitch Carter in The Guestlist
We've almost been left speechless by Dustin McLean's literal take on A-ha's seminal music video ‘Take On Me'.

Dispensing with the song's original lyrics but keeping the original melody, Dustin proceeds to describe the video in minute detail.

It makes for astounding viewing. Don't miss the chase scene about 2 minutes in - "What are they doing with my magic frame?". Brilliant!

Entertaining to watch but I can asure you it would not have entered the top 40 in that era, but with some of the rubbish about today who knows, and I was a die hard AHA fan.

dumb. why is no one is capable of thinking up anything original these days and always have to piggy back something from a previous generation?
just plain lazy.

I'm a lifelong A-ha fan, and I don't see the point in this apart from to create some pre-album release hype - for that and to direct people to the ORIGINAL and better Take On Me video, it is good, but in itself is pretty pants really!

A-ha are currently working on their NEW ALBUM, due out sometime next year ;-) The ORIGINAL Take On Me video is the best - if it aint broke, don't try to fix it!!
Click here to see an art installation that brings the comic book imagery from the original Take On Me video and conflates it with 2008: http://www.helendblackbird.co.uk/Exhibitions.html

A-ha rock (Magne and Coldplay - see Coldplay dot com)!!

If Weird Al Yankowich got it in a threeway with Beavis & Butthead, this is the kinda crap that would spill out ...

159. Jim -
The original was great - what's the point on reworking it like this ?
