Leon Jackson vs Peter Kay

Posted Fri 17 Oct 2008 2:10PM BST by Mitch Carter in The Guestlist
The gloves are off in an epic chart battle which sees X Factor winner Leon Jackson going head to head with comedian Peter Kay in the race to the top of the singles chart. Leon's single Don't Call This Love is up against Peter Kay's X-Factor send-up, The Winner's Song, written by Gary Barlow.

According to reports, this week's running is extremely tight, with pop superstar Pink also in the frame to retain her current no.1 ‘Who Knew'. It is thought that there are only a few hundred sales separating the three acts.

Leon told the Daily Star: "My single has gone up to No 2 in the midweek charts. I'm so proud. If it stays in that position come Sunday I'll crack open the Irn-Bru and do a little dance around the living room."

Peter Kay and Gary Barlow are also set to release a Chrismas single, Once Upon A Christmas Song, going head to head with the X-Factor once again.

Who do you think should win the chart battle? Watch the videos below and have your say.

I think Pink's song is "so what" not "who knew". The latter was released years ago!

105. Lorna -
The Peter Kay song reminds me of Britains got the pop factor and possible a new Jesus Christ Superstar Soapstar on ice - which was fab! Hope that takes the no. 1 slot!

106. Jay -

That Leon song is awful. It's whats bad about pop music. I couldn't stop laughing at the Peter Kay X factor Spoof. It's always nice to see a song get to number one taking the p**s. Leon go home.

112. JEAN -
Leon for number one. He has worked hard this

Leon's is a better song, but saying that, it's got the worst 'bridge' ever. Has he forgotten the lyrics for it, or are the lyrics "woah, woah, ummm something something"?

leon jackson's song is better, but the show peter kay did with this song (britains got the pop factor...and possibly a new jesus christ soapstar superstar) was really clever, by taking the mickey out of other shows like x factor and britains got talent.

I really hope Peter Kay gets to number 1, loved his show!!

Peter Kay is really funny ..but thats what he does he's a comedian not a singer

Leon has an amazing voice and deserves to get number 1 because he's a singer and a good one!!!
i mean you dont see Leon winning a comedy award do you
