Beyonce Steals Songwriter From Leona

Simon Cowell was left reeling today after Beyonce recorded a song that was originally intended for Leona Lewis.

The track called ‘Halo' was written for Leona by Ryan Tedder, lead singer for soft-pop act One Republic, who also wrote Leona's transatlantic smash ‘Bleeding Love'.

Cowell was said to be shocked by the news that Beyonce had recorded the track as he had previously agreed with Tedder that the song would be recorded by Leona.

An insider at SongBMG, Leona's record label, said: "Leona's diary is so rammed it didn't look like she could record it until next year. Ryan didn't want to hang around so he gave it to Beyonce".

Although it's hard to fault Beyonce for wanting to perform the track, I can't help thinking that the song would suit Leona's tones a lot more. Listen to Beyonce's version of the track below and let us know who you would prefer to hear sing 'Halo'.

I'd prefer Leona to sing it as Beyonce's voice actually really grates on my nerves, I think she is very overrated as a vocalist.

If there was a legal agreement between Simon Cowell an the songwriter, Simon should sue for loss of potiental income. And Leona would be so much better sound for this sound

what a fantastic song shame they couldnt wait for leona to record it as i think she would have sung it much better,i love beyonce she is a fantastic singer but i do think leona would have made this song a number 1

I think Beyonce's tone suits the song quite well actually! And I also think the title 'Beyonce Steals Songwriter from Leona' is absolutely incorrect! It states Leona was far too busy & was putting off recording the song due to other, obviously more important things, so the Songwriter GAVE the song to Beyonce!

My opinion is 'If you snooze... You loose' and unfortunately for Leona, she snoozed!!!
