You Give Touring A Bad Name!

Posted Mon 2 Nov 2009 11:59AM GMT by Dave Rumour in Snap, Crackle and Pop
Bon Jovi made their live comeback this weekend on British TV with a suitably overblown appearance on the "X-Factor". How could it be any other way on a show that employs a man who appears to suffer a heart attack every time he is called on to deliver his latest and most histrionic voiceover. He's in good company, judging by the equally over-excited comments of the live promoters behind the rock veteran's summer 2010 residency at the O2 Arena.

"Bon Jovi are the best live band in the world. This one could run and run", purred AEG Live's Rob Hallett recently of the dates. Snap, Crackle and Pop presumes it is in these terms that we can find reason behind what have been called the "ludicrous" ticket prices for the concerts. Jovi fans are said to be up-in-arms about the figures being demanded, with general admission costing between £45 and £200, which isn't so bad until you consider that the best tickets in the venue are reportedly going for almost £1300. That's without the booking fee.

The band's website has apparently gone into meltdown as a result, with one fan raging: "Normally prices like this would be expected from the opportunists on eBay, stealing tickets from real fans. I am going to stand up for what I believe in and use my earnings to feed my kids, rather than lining some fat cat's pocket". Meanwhile another wrote: "The prices of the tickets are ludicrous. You really let us down this time, guys". The group's latest album, "The Circle", addresses the world's ongoing financial woes, an irony that has not been lost on their cash-strapped followers. It seems you really have to pay through the nose for this...

I wouldn't pay to see Bon Jovi - nor do I have the desire TO see them. More fool anyone paying to see them esp at those prices.

Bon Jovi are out of date any way, even when they were young they sounded just like thousands of other glam rockers, My pal Tommy who works on the docks said he wouldn't go, even if he had a free ticket !

'Bon Jovi are the best live band in the world' says AEG Live's Rob Hallett. He's obviously never been to a U2 concert.

I remember seeing Bon Jovi years ago supporting the mighty Kiss, Bon Jovi went down hill after first three albums, cannot justify the prices they are asking, when last couple of albums have been very poor and in few weeks the new one will be £3 in sale bin

Im sorry but to sell 120+ million albums and sell out stadiums all over the world I fail to see how they can be anything but F***ing great
