Rihanna: The Naked Truth

Posted Mon 11 May 2009 12:17PM BST by Dave Rumour in Snap, Crackle and Pop
Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for Rihanna, it gets worse. The last few months have been pretty tumultuous for the pop sensation, following the infamous, headline-grabbing clash with on/off boyfriend Chris Brown, who stands accused of attacking her a few hours before February's Grammy Awards. This weekend, a series of semi-pornographic photos, seemingly of the singer, have been leaked online, capturing her in all manner of naked cavorting.

Seven shots are currently doing the rounds, causing consternation in Rihanna's camp, who have demanded they are pulled from websites. Record label Island Def Jam today issued legal notices against "unauthorized photos purported to be...Rihanna", without accepting she is in front of the lens. In one of the images, "I love you Robyn" has been written on a mirror, perhaps in reference to the star's real name. "She has no idea how these pictures have been leaked but she's determined to find out", a source explained as the finger of suspicion turned to Brown. "This is both a false and defamatory statement. Chris has not released or 'leaked' any photos of Rihanna or anyone else for that matter", has been the official response from his lawyers.

According to reports, Brown is said to be furious about the leak of another graphic image in the immediate aftermath of their altercation, seemingly showing her battered face. There are even suggestions that the new set feature him sat on a bed with a pair of her pink pants on his head. Some are speculating that this latest controversy will land a further blow to Rihanna's already wobbly career. However, Snap, Crackle and Pop can only see it going the other way and fully expects her to surf back into the public eye in the coming months on a groundswell of public support, triumphant in adversity. By which point, Brown could be in prison.
