If anyone was looking for confirmation that we all live in an "X-Factor" world, where Simon Cowell is Ming The Merciless, it shall surely arrive on Sunday. The new JLS single, "Everybody In Love", is arrowing straight to Number One. If midweek figures are to be believed, the track will become the third consecutive UK chart-topper to be produced by the show, following Cheryl Cole and Alex Burke.

For the more cynical observers, we can at least take consolation in the fact that Cowell turned the band down for a deal on his SyCo label. Or can we? "My company, we employ about 15 people. We had to make a decision based on how many acts we could cope with this year. But the company who I work with, Sony, had another label who wanted to sign the group. It's still within the same family", he explained, frustratingly. Does anything ever go wrong for this man?!
