Is Britney Indecent?

Posted Fri 23 Jan 2009 3:49PM GMT by Johnny Famethrowa in Touching The Void
Britney Spears has pretty much broken every taboo now. In her bid to become the most saucy, salacious and provocative mainstream star on planet pop, she will stop at nothing. Britney consistently tops the internet's annual search polls, emphatic proof that shaving your head, getting mangled on whizzer and chips, losing custody of your children, wearing no pants even when there's a cold snap about or crashing flash cars into helpless paparazzi are the real things that make this business tick. Since when did music come into it?!

Well the singing headline must be pretty pleased with herself this week, after actually prompting debate with, like, one of her songs. Not only that, but with the soon to be released new single "If You Seek Amy" she appears to have plumped impressive unchartered depths, reportedly turning innocent little children into foul-mouthed tearaways. Because the latest cut from recent album "Circus" has a hidden/bloody obvious message at the chorus, which goes "All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to F-U-C-K me."

Family groups in Australia and America are up-in-arms at the revelation, with one mother horrified to discover her children, aged 5 and 7, "walking around the house singing 'F-U-C-K'". The American Parents Television Council have called for the track to be removed from playlists, its President Tim Winter insisting: "There is no misinterpreting the lyrics to this song, and it's certainly not about a girl named Amy". Spears has now issued an edited version of the song, which you can hear below, but it makes very little attempt to cover up the obvious obscenity. One wonders how Britney would feel if her two boys took to using such blue language? She probably wouldn't give a F-U-C-K, suggests Famethrowa.

I don't have a problem with that. Its not the first song to have the word " [profane]" in it. I'm no fan of Britney but once again people are just picking on her for no real reason.

fcuk the haters its a great song people need to stop being so up tight.

It's all about the "SHOCK FACTOR" for her at present, Some people love it! some hate it! It's not about being uptight for some? it's not a good impression for kids? You can write a decent song without Swear words???

Rubbish song from a rubbish mime-artist. It's aimed at kids - that's what the fuss is about.

Why do you think she did it? If the record gets banned it'll become a legendary track for years to come, like frankie's relax. Let's face it, by getting om the high horses you guys are doing exactly what the marketing ploy intended, Outsmarted by Britney Spears...........there's a dubious claim to fame.

"ha ha hee hee ha ha ho"- how did that manage to get classed as song lyrics?!!

19. Kathryn -
I like the song but there's no need for any swearing in any song!

britney spears is currently barely capable of convincingly getting through a live conversation, let alone a performance (x-factor). do you really think she can write songs and think up 'hidden' sexual messages? pretty much nothing she does is her own decision, she is under the control of her father, management and record label, all of whom appear to be pushing her when she clearly isnt ready to make a come-back.
