A Carnival Of Idiots?

Famethrowa is wondering if we could be witnessing the emergence of the next Sid & Nancy or Kurt & Courtney here? Ignore the tedium of this saga plus the unenviable task they face living with such drug demons in the face of a ceaseless swarm of news men/vultures desperate for blood. Because for all the allegations levelled at them in recent years, you'd think animal cruelty would not be amongst them, despite those dubious reports of Doherty's smacked-out cats. Well, amazingly, their bumper book of bad behaviour now includes the condemnation of the RSPCA and others.
For those yet to experience "Winemouse", the clip finds the incorrigible, mumbling duo playing with 30 of the newborn creatures, shot against a fluorescent blue light. As the animals are poked and prodded, we're informed that one looks like Johnny Borrell. Amy then issues an appeal to incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil not to divorce her, via a mouse. It's weird, stupefying stuff and has prompted an incredulous reaction from animal rights groups and fans, while a spokesman for Winehouse called it "harmless fun".
Meanwhile, Coldplay's flag-waving march on U2's pop'n'roll senate is gathering momentum, as we await the Brian Eno produced third album "Viva La Vida". A second, alternative video for new single "Violet Hill" has been leaked and captures the group being conducted by a series of political figures or "carnival of idiots" in Chris Martin's words, with Bush and Blair the senior clowns. Smartly and comically edited, it gives the otherwise slight, throwaway "Violet Hill" an anthemic power to match the skyward bound weapons of mass destruction on-screen.
