Definitely Maybe Liam

Posted Wed 25 Mar 2009 4:22PM GMT by Johnny Famethrowa in Touching The Void
These days, most pop'n'roll stars can be found bleating daily that they can't go anywhere without being hounded by paparazzi and caught on camera with their trousers down. But surely not even Liam Gallagher expected to become the unlikely first star of Google's pioneering and controversial new mapping service, Street View. Today's press is full of the image below, which seems to capture the Oasis singer sat outside The Queens pub in Camden, London, enjoying a quiet drink with a friend.

Is it him? Well, Craig Cooper, who spotted the image, is in no doubt. "If there's one man you'd recognise having a pint, it's Liam Gallagher. He's often in The Queens. He must be the most high-profile celeb to be caught on Google Street View", said Cooper, who has now set-up a Facebook group called The Google Street Mystery, in a bid to highlight other famous characters captured going about there business in June last year, when the photos were said to have been taken.

A spokesman for Oasis admitted to The Sun that the figure seen wearing sunglasses at a table is "very possibly" Liam. His band mate Noel has previously told reporters that the pair were "stuck in London doing nothing" last summer, after England failed to qualify for Euro 2008, around the time the Google van was out on the streets. Of course, there are some who are less enthusiastic about being snapped, claiming their privacy has been invaded. Surely not the sort of soppy reaction we can expect from Gallagher jnr, despite the dodgy shorts.
