As we prepare for the imminent release of their new album, it's clear that Kasabian are even more drenched in the sound and vision of music's glory days than ever before. Sex, drugs and rock'n'roll are all here and plenty more besides judging by the clinical madness of the record's title, "West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum". The cover (pictured) sees them dressed up like priests, wizards and deranged historical figures, rather like The Rolling Stones on the cover of "Their Satanic Majesties Request" in 1967.

Meanwhile, the band have now released the video to new single "Fire", following comeback track "Vlad The Impaler", which Famethrowa presumes is sent to prepare us for the full drunk insanity. The track kicks-off with a dark, uncredited sample, running as follows: "Shooting junk is weird. You know, like it ain't nothing. Then after you get off on it, man just rips your head off and sits there in the bottom of your gut. And that's you, junk, all the time, every day, all day..." As for the video, well it features the band holding-up a bank in some one horse town and seeing off an army of cops with guitars rather than guns. Razorlight, it is not.
