Oasis: Still Rock 'N' Roll Stars?

Posted Thu 23 Jul 2009 3:54PM BST by Johnny Famethrowa in Touching The Void
Swaggering, swearing, smoking, drinking, fighting voice of the people Oasis are considering taking legal action after some journalists hurt their feelings. The critics in question riled the band by reporting that lead singer Liam Gallagher "stormed out" of a concert in London on Tuesday (July 21) after being pelted with coins and beer.

"The story that Liam left the gig is totally untrue," reads a statement posted by Oasis' representatives on the band's official website. "Liam put on one of the performances of his life, leaving the stage only for a few minutes during songs sung by his brother Noel as is always the case.

"Fans will soon see the truth of this," the statement continued, referring to the fact that cameras were at the Roundhouse on Tuesday to record the performance for TV. "It is very difficult to understand why supposedly respectable publications would publish such malicious and damaging claims."

Malicious? Damaging? While the need for accurate journalism is obvious, the band's decision to seek advice from law firm Carter Ruck does seem a bit, well... touchy. Should a band that have built a career on not giving a damn really get so upset about what the critics might think? Are Oasis losing their rock'n'roll swagger?

No way are they losing their swagger!! They are the only rock and roll band out there who are still good- Kasabian are probably the closest but they are light years behind the success that my fellow mancunians have had.

Oasis have never been any good. The music that they only make a miserable attempt at playing is far from being good or original.
Groups like Oasis are a dime a dozen and Kareoke is superior and alot more fun than anything they have to offer.
