Attic Lights "I Could Be So Good For You"

Posted Thu 15 Jan 2009 11:01AM GMT by Mitch Carter in Video Premieres

Much loved 80s TV series Minder is due to make a return to our screens next month with Shane Ritchie taking the role of Archie Daley, the wide boy nephew of Arthur, whilst Lex Shrapnel plays Terry.

But it's not only the TV show that's getting an update, the theme tune has been given a makeover too.

Scottish rockers Attic Lights have recorded a new version "I Could Be So Good To You" originally sung by Dennis Waterman.

Watch the video below and let us know what you think.

Loved Minder in the 80s nice remake of the song still prefer the original and the charachters look good but the real chemistry was between Arthur and Terry (will it be there?)

11. ROY -
Loved the old series. Shane Ritchie - brilliant as Arthur. If Lex Shrapnel, can pull it off as Tel, With an intro like that, it's a HIT!

12. betty boop's page -
not the same as the orignal but will give a watch and hope they can pull it of, loved the original so it may be hard, but i will watch and keep by fingers crossed.

13. Robert -
In a word CRAP, bring back Dennis Waterman he did a far better job of it.

14. JANET -
not bad hope new series as good as original

15. ROBIN -

BILL
IAM WILLING TO GIVE ANY-THING A CHANCE.BUT I CANT SEE ANYBODY DOING A BETTER JOB THAN THE TWO ORIGINALS A+D, THE SINGING IS NOT AS GOOD AS DENNIS WATERMANS.

17. Joe -
It can never be the same without aurther, her in doors, and terry.

18. JEFF -
Classic series, the original always made me laugh. I hope the remake can live up to expectation, although in my mind AC & DW will always be Tops!
Why Scottish rockers - should have used Sham 69 for the remake.

19. Robert K -
could have been worse, could have been Shane Richie singing the theme tune

Oh dear. If you're gonna cover a track there are 2 ways of doing it. 1 is to cover it as near as possible to the original but using modern production techniques. Or 2, make the song your own and completely change it. Unfortunately no one seems to have told Attic Lights this. So we end up with a wishy washy version that is oh so quickly forgotten. Shame.
